Restorative Dentistry

White Restorations (Fillings)
We use filling material that matches the color of your teeth. Today's newest materials actually strengthen the tooth by bonding with the tooth structure to seal and protect it. Our practice no longer uses silver mercury filling material and we recommend replacing defective fillings with white fillings when indicated.

Onlays & Inlays
Onlays and Inlays are conservative, laboratory-fabricated restorations that restore teeth with large amounts of tooth structure missing. The onlays/inlays are tooth colored ceramic that cover the top of the tooth for needed strength and security when chewing.

Crowns
We recommend crowns for teeth that are badly broken or have large restorations that need replacement. A ceramic crown, which matches the color of adjoining teeth, completely covers and restores the tooth to its full function. The crown looks and feels just like your other teeth. Several materials are available, depending on your individual needs, including gold when desired.

Bridges
Bridges are used to replace missing teeth. We use the teeth on either side of the space to support a "false" tooth to make it appear as if no tooth was ever missing. The space is then filled.

Implants & Dentures
Today's dental technology also allows us to now replace missing teeth with an implant, or replacement tooth. We can actually insert a titanium root into the bone that serves as an anchor for the teeth.

Implants can replace one tooth, several teeth or even an entire arch. Partial Dentures replace one or several missing teeth in an arch and are attached to the remaining teeth. We do place partial dentures with removable appliances when needed. Full Dentures replace all the teeth in an arch, and are important in making patients feel confident and secure about their smile.

With implants, denture wearers can truly enjoy eating corn on the cob without fear of their dentures falling out! The implant procedure is painless and the results last a lifetime. Implants are a great alternative to removable partial dentures and bridges.

Endodontic Therapy (Root Canal Treatment)
When a tooth gets infected from decay or fractures in a chewing accident, it can be very painful if not treated. Removing the nerve from the inside the tooth will relieve the pain and allow us to restore and save your tooth. We will determine with you how to deal with a problem tooth that requires endodontic therapy. We also work with several excellent specialists in complex cases.

Extractions (Oral Surgery)
We are in the business of saving teeth, so Extractions are a last resort to us after every effort has been made to save a tooth. We will always discuss with you your options and outcomes regarding extractions.

Third molars (wisdom teeth) are often a problem for teenagers and adults. We refer most all wisdom teeth extractions to one of several oral surgeons. These skilled specialists can assure you of a painless and uneventful experience.
