Charles Anderson, DMD
Dr. Anderson was born and raised in Charleston and grew up in healthcare as the son of a physician. He received his undergraduate degree from the University of South Carolina and a master’s degree in education from The Citadel. Graduating from the Medical University of South Carolina College of Dental Medicine in 1985, Dr. Anderson practiced in downtown Charleston for 16 years and relocated to Mt. Pleasant in 2001.

Dr. Anderson has continued his education throughout his 25 years in practice. He has attended courses at the L.D. Pankey Institute, the Dawson Academy, the Whitecap Institute for Dental Implant training, and other learning institutions around the country. Dr. Anderson is a multi-year alumnus from the Pankey Institute. He is a member of the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry, Academy of General Dentistry, American Dental Association, and South Carolina Dental Association.

Teaching is also a great interest for Dr. Anderson. He is a part-time clinical instructor of restorative dentistry at the James B. Edwards College of Dental Medicine at the Medical University of South Carolina. He is regularly involved with Dental Community Fellowship, a faith-based organization of dental students and local dental professionals. Their goal is to provide free dental care to underserved populations both here in Charleston and third-world countries around the globe. Dr. Anderson has taken numerous mission trips with dental students to several countries including Haiti, Ecuador, and Honduras. Dr. Anderson regularly donates his time to caring for patients at East Cooper Community Outreach.

Mt. Pleasant is home for Dr. Anderson and his wife, Sandra, a nurse who works at Hollings Cancer Center at MUSC. They have three grown daughters and one granddaughter. They are active members at St. Andrews Church in Mt. Pleasant. Dr. Anderson is a member of the Mt. Pleasant Rotary Club and the Mt. Pleasant Business and Professional Association. In his spare time, Dr. Anderson enjoys golfing and spending time with his family.

Kelly Vincent, Office Manager
Kelly joined our dental practice in January of 2012. She has 10 years of experience with business management, and she also has experience in orthodontics.

Kelly and her husband Charlie, just welcomed their first baby, Hunter, in October 2013. Both natives of Charleston, they live in Mt. Pleasant with their two dogs, Brac and Layla. Kelly is an avid USTA tennis player, enjoys reading and spending time on the beautiful waters of Charleston, and loves making jewelry in the few minutes of spare time she may have.

Janet Easterby, Office Administrator
Janet has been working part-time with Dr. Charles Anderson’s team for 14 years but has been surrounded by dentistry her entire life. She is the daughter of a retired Charleston dentist. Her mother is also a retired dental hygienist.

Janet has been married for 31 years to her high school sweetheart. They have three grown children. Her youngest daughter is a sophomore at Coastal Carolina University. In her spare time, Janet enjoys traveling, reading, and sporting events.

Michele Litchfield, Registered Dental Hygienist
Michele, a Pennsylvania native, has been calling Charleston home since 2003. She earned her dental hygiene degree in 1998 and practiced in
Bethlehem, PA, Traverse City, MI, and Rochester, NY prior to moving to Charleston. Charleston’s sunny, friendly environment replaced the stress of the harsh winters of the north, which drove Michele toward her new happy life in the Lowcountry. She is a member of Seacoast Church in Mt. Pleasant where she met her husband. On 07-07-07, Michele married Perry Litchfield, a Charleston native. She and Perry live in West Ashley with their adorable retired (couch potato) greyhounds. They spend a lot of time laughing at their dogs, walking local parks, gardening, taking nature photographs, and spending time with family and friends. Dental hygiene is a fun and challenging career for Michele. She is passionate about taking care of every patient as if they are a member of her own family and looks forward to meeting you!

Kathryn Collins, Dental Assistant

Christy Johnson, Registered Dental Hygienist
Christy is a Charleston native and has considered it a blessing to call this amazingly beautiful place her home! She has been in the dental profession for over 19 years, becoming a dental assistant and then continuing her passion and pursuing her dental hygiene degree. She graduated locally in 1999 with an A.D. in allied health sciences and has been a practicing registered dental hygienist ever since.

Christy married her high school sweetheart in 2000, and together they have a beautiful daughter! She has enjoyed being a member of the Anderson Dentistry - Mt Pleasant Dentist team because, “they consider me a part of their family!” The love for her patients and what they give back to her makes her feel very rewarded and thankful on a daily basis. Christy loves spending time with family, dancing with her beautiful daughter, being outdoors, and cheering for her favorite college football team. Go Tigers!

Heather Waits, Front Office Administrator

Heather is a native Charlestonian. She has been married 10 years to her best friend, Travis. They have two children and a farm full of animals. Heather enjoys spending time with her family, loving on her pets, boating and fishing.

Heather was Dr. Anderson’s chair side assistant nearly 10 years ago until she decided to be a stay at home mom. She has been in the dental field for over 15 years. Heather feels very blessed to be back working for Dr. Anderson.
