At Anderson Dentistry - Mt Pleasant Dentist, we are happy to offer partial dentures for our clients in Mt Pleasant, South Carolina seeking to replace missing teeth. Partial dentures have helped many of our patients who still have one or more natural teeth in their upper or lower jaw.

So, what are partial dentures? They are essentially replacement teeth connected to a plastic base that is the color of gum tissue. They attach to your teeth by clasps on a metal framework or more natural looking connectors known as precision attachments. Depending on the state of your remaining teeth, a removable partial denture sometimes necessitates capping your teeth with crowns to ensure the best fit.

To make sure your partial denture continues to perform optimally, be sure to follow our dentist’s care instructions. This includes coming in for periodic checkups and adjustments because your mouth shifts over time. Aging also causes your bone and gum ridges to recede and shrink, affecting the fit of your denture.

If your partial dentures don’t fit properly, you may find yourself with gum inflammation and oral sores. We recommend calling our office right away if your dentures loosen, for a quick adjustment. If your denture chips, cracks, or breaks, please call our dentist right away. It’s never a good idea to attempt repairs on your own, as glues available over the counter often contain toxic chemicals.

Are you ready to do something about the missing teeth in your smile? If you want to be able to chew and speak with confidence again, we encourage you to come in and speak with our dentist. You can schedule a consultation with our dentist by calling 843-884-2021 today. Dr. Charles Anderson and our team are here for your oral health!
